Here are the Top 8 reasons to own a PlayStation 3 in 2019:

  1. No monthly fee to play online. This is awesome for the casual gamers and parents that want to let their kids play games but don’t want a recurring bill every month.
  2. Huge selection of games to play. The PS3 still has a wide collection of games available. There were over 1,400 games made for the Play station 3 alone.
  3. Easy to find. You can buy one on Amazon or at your local garage sale or swap and shop!
  4. Blue-ray player and DVD player built in. Buying a Blue-ray and DVD combo is going to cost just as much as a PS3. There is way more value in having the ability to play the games and the movies vs. just the movies. Huge value!
  5. Unique Selection. Lots of classic Play Station exclusives (that means they are only on PlayStation) like God of War, Gran Turismo, inFamous, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid 4, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, Ratchet and Clank, Splinter Cell trilogy, Tomb Raider trilogy, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and Warhawk just to name a few!
  6. Easy to use. There aren’t a lot of extras to confuse people. Someone that doesn’t know much about technology should be able to operate a PS3 just fine. The layout of the menu is nice and it is easy to locate where things are.
  7. Streaming Capable. Why buy a Streaming device or a smart tv when you can just watch Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and pretty much anything else right on your PS3?
  8. Older generation system. This being older means that it may be “unpopular” to certain people. That should be even more of a reason for you to buy it because the game system, games, and accessories are much cheaper. Look how cheap you can get a set of two controllers for.

I like the PS3. A lot.

There are some differences in the PS3 and the newest generation systems… The PS3 doesn’t have as fast of a processor or as high definition of graphics as the PS4 or the Xbox One. PS3’s online mode in some games is vulnerable to people hacking (Cheating in order to win) but this is not common in my experience.

To be honest none of that bothers me because the PS3 system is not very much slower than the new systems, the graphics looks the same to me on my 720p tv and I don’t play online that often (even when I do it is fine and no one cheats). I play GTA V every once in a while. I also have a PS4 but I don’t like paying the monthly PSN fee. Granted, it is a good deal still per month if you love to game for your entertainment.

I love the PS3. It is a very good system with a great price point. There are many perks to this awesome machine.
